Do’s and Don’ts of Article Writing for Submission

Article writing can be a great way of getting more exposure for your business or web site but there are a few things that you should keep in mind before you begin. If you keep these things in mind as you write, you are a likely to get better results.

DO read the rules of the article submission site before sending in your articles. Article writing can be a great investment of your time, but it will not be if you ignore the rules of the site you are attempting to publish your articles to. Take note of minimum article length, amount of links that are to be included and where they can be included (some article submission sites only allow links in the resource box), and formatting guidelines.

DON’T submit junk. Make sure that your articles are proofread before you submit them. Some article directories will refuse publication because of broken grammar and misspellings and others will not. Besides that though, remember that these articles are representing your business and you would not want potential clients to think that you are not able to write grammatically and without spelling mistakes would you?

DO spread your article writing efforts around. Use a variety of sources for publishing your articles. This will help you get a better variety of back links and it will also expose you to different kinds of audiences.

DON’T publish the same articles in multiple directories. The more times you publish an article the less value it will have. If you want to make use of your articles several times over, make sure to re-write them completely. Add in new information or present it in a different manner.

DO present valuable information that readers can benefit from. If they see that you can give them value they will be more likely to click on the links that you provide in the body of your article or in your resource box. They will want to know what other value you can provide them with.
